I´m alive!

Much has happened since the latter one time that I spent here, but ... the arrival of winter, start working, a host of circumstances which have been responsible for this break. Nor must I forget that laziness sometimes I was and leaving things for a tomorrow that never came. Optimists have encouraged me to keep writing and the less ones, to at least to give him a fitting end to the blog. Since we only have three weeks to return (how time flies) I will try to take the best I can and try to say goodbye in style.

There are many things I would tell but little time, so I will take now that I have been inspired to tell the highlight.

Among many other things, we started working. Some more some less, some more fortunate than others ... the fact is that all of us are between 6 and 8 hours in our work placement.

The "mystery" of the Leonardo program is none other than making internships in foreign companies. In my case I ended up doing the practices in the Intelligent Systems Research Center (ISRC) of the University of Ulster, Magee Campus and the truth is that the experience is great. In my case I'm working 8 hours usual, my tasks are more than interesting, and sometimes I have more responsibility than it presupposes an intern. One of the most striking things at the beginning was schedule, is somewhat different from the usual in Spain (9-5 works), but this I will comment in another post about the lifestyle of Northern Ireland.
Tomorrow is another day.

8th day

This has been our second Saturday in Ireland and we decided to go to visit Belfast.
We got up earlier than other days. Around 8:30 we were in the bus station waiting for our bus arrived. After spend 1 hour and a half, we finally arrive Belfast.

In the station we decided the itinerary of our trip. In the morning we would see the monuments of the center and everything related to the Titanic. Then we would eat in the St. George's Market. In the afternoon, the politic tour, to finish visiting the university and the botanical garden.

We finally decided not enter to see the Titanic Museum. Only for seeing some furniture and tons of pictures is not necessary to pay ticket that cost almost 20 €. What we visited was the building, the memorial, shipyards and many other things.

On the way we saw the Clock Tower, the Statue Harmony, The Big Fish sculpture and much more.

After visiting the Titanic Museum area, we went to eat at St. George's Market, like good tourists. After that, we visited the City Hall.

Then, we call a black taxi that took us to see everything about the famous "troubles". We were telling the whole story (a good part in the first person) and the truth is that it was very interesting. Highlight the stifling atmosphere of the unionist area. I bet you cannot find in London so many Union Jacks as here.

The tour ended at the University of Belfast and the botanical garden.

Back in Derry not we missed the opportunity to go out and see the eccentricities of the young Irish people.

5th, 6th & 7th day

I've decided to write about these days in a single post. This is because every day we’ve done exactly the same. Do our homework after get up. Study something. Go to the academy for our 3 hours and come back home. Maybe go for a shopping after that, taking a look to something, but almost the same things every day. This is what everybody calls routine, and something tells me that it's going to be so until we finally start working.

The only difference was that last Friday we went out for a walk and visited a typical Irish pub with live music.

Those days have been, I’d not say boring, but maybe some repetitive.

Tomorrow is another day.
